Kilger, Dr. med. Robert

Specialist for orthopaedics and trauma surgery,
sports traumatology

Dr. med. Robert Kilger has specialised in knee and foot surgery, he is the head of the Outpatient  Emergency Department for Sports and Accidental Injuries. In addition, Dr. Kilger is the Team Physician of EHC München and Garhammer Skitours. Apart from injuries caused by traffic accidents, injuries during leisure activities and sports count among the most common accidental injuries. The Outpatient Emergency Department for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery was founded in order to guarantee immediate treatment of sports and accidental injuries without the need to make an appointment and without long waiting time. It is aimed at creating an attractive offer for patients with acute injuries, making available professional and comprehensive acute treatment beyond the common consultation hours, in the early evening and at the weekend. This means that acute injuries will not be trivialised, the required immediate treatment measures and optimum therapy being initiated on the spot.

The ATOS Clinic offers a highly specialised treatment to an acutely injured person from the beginning, cooperating with excellent surgeons with superior qualification in any orthopaedic specialist area. Thus, the patients can benefit from an optimum and individual treatment on the highest internationally comparable level.
In many cases, long and complicated courses of the injuries and correspondingly high treatment costs may be prevented.
At the opening hours of the Outpatient Emergency Department (including the weekend), state-of-the-art x-ray and MRI systems are available. This allows quick and exact diagnostics.
In case of a surgical indication, surgery may be performed in time depending on the urgency of the condition.

For the treatment of bone fractures, advanced steel and titanium implants are available. The possibilities offered by fixed-angle implants in particular allow a markedly faster and less complicated recovery in many cases. As far as possible, all injuries within a joint are carried out using arthroscopy.
